The invention relates to a protective cap (6) for the end of a coupling part (1) provided with a valve (4, 5) in a quick coupling. The protective cap comprises a sleeve (7) which fits over an external surface (2) on the coupling part and has a bottom (8). According to the invention, the bottom (8) of the sleeve is provided with a through-hole (14) in which a pin (15) is arranged for displacement. The pin (15) has an end part which protrudes into the sleeve (7) and is intended, when the pin (15) is pressed in, to act on the valve (4, 5) in the coupling part (1) to bring about decompression.
