The use of 4-hydroxy tamoxifen, raloxifene, toremifene, centchroman, idoxifene, 6-(4-Hydroxy-phenyl)-5-Ä4-(2-piperidin-1-yl-ethoxy)-benzylÜ-naphthalen -2-ol or ä4-Ä2-(2-azabicyclo Ä2.2.1Ühept-2-yl)-ethoxyl-phenylü-Ä6-hydroxy-2-(4-hydroxy-phenyl)benzo ÄbÜthiophen-3-ylÜ-methanone, or of a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of any of the above, for the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment or prevention of atherosclerosis, independent of lipid lowering. |
