COMPOSITE RESIN COMPOSITION

A composite resin composition comprising an intercalation compound finely dispersed in a thermoplastic resin and comprising an onium salt of an amino alcohol derivative intercalated between layers of a swelling compound having a layer structure, the layer-to-lyer spacing as measured by X-ray diffractometry being 10 to 25 ANGSTROM , wherein the content of the intercalation compound based on the composite resin composition is 0.5 to 60 % by weight. The composition has excellent flexural modulus of elasticity and heat resistance and hence is suitable for use in various applications, such as automobile parts, domestic electric appliances, aircraft parts, and building materials.
