The door leaf has a profiled frame of steel or aluminium members, and the fixed frame consists at least partly of such members. A drive mechanism opens and shuts the door, typically having a closing spring and a hydraulic damper. Part at least of the profiled members (41) of the leaf and/or fixed frame (2) contain a groove (44) formed by drawing during production of the respective member. This is open to and accessible from the outside and accommodates the drive mechanism housing, a slide rail (35) for the driving linkage and/or an electrical control system, which is secured in position in the groove.
