Process for preparing silicone latexes

A process is disclosed for preparing a silicone latex. Said process comprises first forming a premix comprising polydiorganosiloxane and crosslinker before emulsification. A silicone latex is then formed at a temperature no higher than 60 DEG C. by mixing surfactant and water with said premix. The resulting silicone latex may be diluted with additional water, if desired. A process for the continuous preparation of a silicone latex is also described.
