A piezoelectric device useful as an electrical transformer or filter has a vibratable element (1) having at least two members (2) arranged for bending oscillation. Each member (2) carries a piezoelectric driving element (4) and at least one member (2) carries a piezoelectric output element (5). Operation of the driving elements (4) by a voltage causing transversal or longitudinal deformation of the piezoelectric layer induces bending oscillation of the members (2). The output element (5) has a piezoelectric layer polarized in its thickness direction and a pair of electrodes generating electrical output upon transversal deformation of its piezoelectric layer. The driving elements (4) stimulate a predetermined vibrational bending mode of the vibratable element. In an alternative embodiment the driving elements stimulate simultaneously two vibrational bending modes of the element having mutually perpendicular bending directions. <IMAGE> |
