Mould operating mechanism for glassware forming machine

Each mould support is coupled to a nut moving on a motor-driven lead screw. Preferably there are two nuts on left and right hand ends of the screw, each connected by a linkage to a yoke coupled to the mould support. The screw is of controlled rigidity. When the moulds are in the closed position the screw deflects so that the rear surfaces of the nuts engage the inner surfaces of the machine housing.
