The system (10) includes a division scale (11), representing the entire possible speed range of the vehicle, which is assigned an indicator (13) for indicating the respective instantaneous speed of the vehicle. The division scale is arranged with the speed increasing non-linearly. The division scale is designed divided quadratically with the speed (v2). In addition to the nonlinear division scale a linear division scale (14) is provided for the speed.
