Manually operated pliers

The manually operated pliers has a pair of main tongues (2,3), one of which engages the tip (6) of the other. The working end of the pliers have inset blocks (9,10) shaped to provide the required functions. A third element in the form of a lever (17) together with a coupling link is used to apply a closing force to the pliers via pins (18,19,21) positioned to give maximum mechanical advantage.
