<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the occurrence of the unstable state of the threading of a material in the rolling device before it happens. SOLUTION: The control method is applied to the rolling device equipped with a pair of work rolls 11a, 11b rolling the material and a pair of reserve rolls 12, 12b positioning on the upper side and the lower side of a pair of the work rolls 11a, 11b, applying a pressure between a pair of the work rolls and whose work rolls 11a, 11b making a pair have offsets on the outlet side in the rolling direction to a pair of the reserve rolls 12a, 12b. And, a difference in diameter between a pair of the work rolls 11a, 11b, is set to 0.1 to 1 mm. Further, measuring means 19a, 19b measuring rolling direction displacements on the working side and the drive side of the work roll 11a on the large diameter side, a roll gap calculator 21 which is a rolling down position adjusting means adjusting rolling down positions on the working side and the drive side to a pair of the work rolls 11a, 11b according to the rolling direction displacements measured by these measuring means 19a, 19b, a rolling down position setting device 22, and rolling down device 18a, 18b, are provided.</p> |
