PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide such a developer carrying body that a developer on the developer carrying body has stable and proper charges for repeated development and that a uniform image of high quality without decrease in image density or without production of a ghost can be obtd. SOLUTION: This developer carrying body 8 consists of at least a base body 6 and a resin coating layer 7 which is formed on the surface of the base body 6 and contains a binder resin and a conductive fine power. The binder resin consists of a copolymer containing a methylmethacrylate monomer (M) unit and a nitrogen-contg. vinyl monomer (N) unit. The molar ratio of copolymn. of the methylmethacrylate monomers (M) and nitrogen-contg. vinyl monomers (N) satisfies M:N=(4 to 999):1. The binder resin has 3000 to 50000 weight average mol.wt.(Mw).
