<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the cooling performance of and simplify the configuration of a friction type starting clutch belonging to an automatic transmission. SOLUTION: A clutch housing 32c is interposed in a power transmitting system interposed between an engine A and a continuously variable transmission 33, and a friction type starting clutch 35 and a forward-backward run changeover device 36 are accommodated in the housing 32c, in which a lubricating oil is put fully and circulated. Because the area around the friction surface of the clutch 35 is cooled by the lubricating oil, a steep temp. rise made by the frictional heat is suppressed to lead to enhancement of the durability. Common components are used in the clutch 35 and changeover device 36, which permits achievement of a simple and compacted configuration.</p> |
