PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid color bleed occurrence by replacing the chrominance signal of a pixel with a deflecting chrominance value to each pixel of an image. SOLUTION: An original value is replaced by a changed value in correcting a chrominance value to have a change profile that is closer to luminance. The difference of pixels is measured from luminance edge behaviors in the pixel and the entire neighborhood edge activities. The edge behaviors are, widely here, defined as change amount of a luminance signal in neighborhood pixels that are close to the pixel and also as luminance change which is measured in inverse proportion according to the entire edge activity degree in pixel neighborhoods, especially in the pixel. A changed output value is limited by the minimum value and the maximum value is pixel neighborhoods. Final change chrominance value Cz (i, j) is outputted as a chrominance signal in place of a pixel in a corrected image as is shown in a block 104. |
