PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for machining wire caulking shaft by which the hardness of a shaft surface is improved or reformed by a relatively simple method. SOLUTION: This method includes at least a preliminary step in which a screw groove 11 is formed on a surface 10 of a shaft 1, a wire winding step in which a wire 12 is wound around the formed screw groove 11, and a finish form-rolling step in which the wire 12 wound by achieving the plastic deformation of a ridge part of the screw groove 11 with pressure is caulked to the shaft 1.
