The invention concerns a mechanism housing wherein the housing base member (20) is closed by a cover (17). The housing base member (20) is made of plastics whilst the cover (17) is made of metal. The object of the invention is to configure the edge of the housing (3) such that the cover (17) rests flat on the housing base member (20). Since, with the casting technique, it is difficult to configure a continuous edge such that it is flat, according to the invention, a plurality of raised portions (100) protrude on the cover edge and act as a bearing surface for the cover (17). To this end, the casting mould is refinished such that the terminal surfaces of the raised portions (100) are easily made to lie in one plane. The housing cover (17) is sealed with respect to the base member (20) via a seal (103) which rests on the edge of the housing (3) and leaves the raised portions (100) free. |
