<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely conduct cell discard control by forcibly aborting all the cells of the same packet which arrived after an discarded cell by a cell switch section of a large capacity multiplexed ATM cross connection device or the like. SOLUTION: A cell multiplexer section 1 detects connection information from a header of a cell of a received main signal, processes the header, based on packet discarding presence information and applies time division multiplex processing to the received cell and provides an output of the result. A cell switch section 2 detects a destination based on the connection information from the cell multiplexer section 1 for switching a cell multiplex signal to be switched to each destination. The switched cells are stored temporarily, and the connection information of discarded cells is stored for a prescribed time when cell discarding is discriminated based on the cell storage amount and the discarding of received cells is discriminated based on the stored connection information and connection information from the cell multiplexer section.</p> |
