PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a CDMA synchronization circuit and a CDMA synchronizing signal detection method, through which a circuit is made small and the power consumption of the circut is reduced. SOLUTION: A switching circuit 510 selects alternately an in-phase component and a quadrature component of a base band signal converted into a digital signal with a sampling frequency that is integral multiple of a chip rate for each sample to multiplex them. A matched filter 511 conducts detection of the multiplexed signal correlation. A square circuit 115 applies square detection to an output signal resulting from correlation detection. A filter 116 extracts an unwanted spectrum from the square-detected output signal. A timing extract circuit 117 extracts symbol timing information from the output signal which passed through the filter.
