A shoe for a drum brake has a brake lining support flange (1) fitted onto a web (2), whose thrust support end (3) is thicker in order to accommodate the thrust forces. The brake lining flange is extended over the thrust support section and has its two edges turned over to form a U-shaped support, with the turned over section separated from the rest of the flange by two side cuts (5b).
