The static mixer incorporating a quadrilateral central plate and four attached flow guide plates (7, 8, 9, 10) set at angles to one another is effected in that flat bridge pieces (13, 14) are located between the plate pairs (11, 12) formed respectively by the guide plates (9, 10) and (7, 8). The bridge pieces leave passages (15, 16) for flow media at least in the corner zones of the plate pairs.
