METHOD OF ASSAY OF ANTIRABIES VIRUS-NEUTRALIZING ANTIBODIES

FIELD: veterinary virology. SUBSTANCE: method involves assay of antirabies virus-neutralizing antibodies by method of inhibition of fluorescence foci. Analyzed serum is mixed with an equal volume of attenuated strain of rabies virus TC-80 and incubated at 37 C for 90 min. Then reaction mixture is added to transplanted culture of saiga kidney cells, cell culture is fixed and antirabies immunoglobulins labeled with FITZ are applied. Reaction is estimated by inhibition of fluorescence foci in cell culture. Invention provides safety, sensitive and rapid method of assay of antirabies virus-neutralizing antibodies in vitro which shows correlation with titration results in experiments in white mice.
