Flat panel display monitor and supporting stand

The direct mounting on the work surface reduced the encumbrance caused by the monitor. The monitor includes a liquid crystal flat display screen (4) and a base (8) which is intended to be fastened to a horizontal support (14). An arm (6) links together the monitor panel (6) and the base (8) with an articulated joint at each end of the arm. Either the base or the arm may then include the necessary circuit to operate the display and provide the current supply. This circuit may include a video signal processing circuit. The base includes sockets (78,79) for connection to computer equipment, and a receiver (84) for IR control signals.
