Reactor blockage is prevented by breaking down large particles selectively captured upstream from the catalytic reactor into small particles and then returning them to the gas flow. A method for treating a flow of gas (A) containing particulate contaminants through a reactor comprising narrow gas channels (1) is used to prevent blockage of these channels. The method comprises the selective capture of large particles, breaking the captured particles down into smaller ones, and returning the small particles to the gas. An Independent claim is also included for the treatment apparatus. |
