The hydraulic amplifier (1) has a control shaft (18) which operates the control valve (60). The control shaft has a shoulder (18a) formed on its external periphery. The hydraulic amplifier includes a reaction chamber (41) which is shaped so that the shoulder is positioned inside this chamber. A degree of servo-operation is commanded when the pressurized liquid is introduced into the reaction chamber, through the control of the pressure inside the reaction chamber.
