The invention concerns a safety and protective device for a materials storage door with a lift curtain (1) comprising a flexible curtain consisting of a single sheet, provided with at least one lifting belt arranged externally on the curtain. The invention is characterised in that it consists of an apron (7) designed to be arranged against the curtain on its surface where the belts are located, to cover the gate from near the base up to at least a sufficient height to ensure the desired protection, and at least over a width covering the belts, the apron being capable of being fixed to the curtain in such a way as not to obstruct the movements of the belts.
