The collector/applicator consists of a pick-up unit (8) containing a piston (14) on a rod (11) for drawing a quantity of the material into its chamber (10), a plunger (16) on the same rod for expelling it, and an outer scraper (9) covering at least part of the outer surface of the pick-up unit and able to slide along it. A projecting pin (18) on the rod moving in a stepped slot (20) in the body of the pick-up unit allows the discharge of the material to be controlled.
