<p>The invention concerns an internal combustion engine characterised in that it comprises for each cylinder: a combustion chamber (1) delimited by the upper surface of a piston (3) mounted in said cylinder (2) and a cylinder head (4) lower surface having a roof-shaped cavity (13) consisting of two sloping planar walls joined at the top by a substantially rounded ridge (12) extending parallel to the engine longitudinal axis, two intake ducts (5, 6) and two exhaust ducts (7, 8) emerging on either side of the axial median plane, a fuel injector (9) and a spark plug (11) emerging in the combustion chamber (1) substantially in the roof-shaped cavity (13) centre, the piston (3) upper surface generally matching in shape the roof-shaped cavity (13) arranged in the cylinder head (4) and having a central cavity (15).</p> |
