[Class,23] In a strainer separator in which a cake 9 of treated material is discharged by a plate 3 reciprocating axially within the drum, washing liquid is supplied between rotatable partitions 4, 7 which are in contact with the cake. The partitions are carried by the plate 3 which rotates at the same speed as the drum. The partition 4 separates the washing liquid supplied through a pipe 8 from the material to be treated supplied through a pipe 6. Where more than one washing liquid is used additional partitions are fitted. |
