Book forming and press machine

Press components press the book cover against the book block. A first station (2) has rotatably driven press rollers (5, 6) rolling on the side surfaces of the book (1) with a defined pressure force. In the conveyor direction of the book at a distance follows a second station (3) with fold forming rails (10, 11). Alignment devices (12-19) and conveyor components (4-6, 8, 23, 24) move the book forward stepwise through the forming and pressing machine. At least one of the transport rollers is so driven that the book with an accelerated movement is conveyed forward, enlarging the step distance to a following book.
