The invention relates to a procedure enabling a mobile unit to log in with a base station, comprising the following steps: (50, 52, 54) recognition of a log-in situation, (58) generation of an identifier, (62) identifier transmission by radiocommunication between the mobile unit and the base station, and (78) sending a confirmation by a local communication between the mobile unit and the base station. A communication system is installed for implementing said procedure. The invention enables a mobile unit to log in simply and reliably with a base station.
