<p>A resin composition for foams for use as cushioning materials for packing, which is biodegradable and is formed mainly from lactic acid, thus contributing to the preservation of the global environment. The resin composition comprises a high-molecular polylactic acid obtained by compounding 100 parts by weight of a prepolymer of lactic acid consisting of the L and D isomers in a molar ratio of from 95/5 to 60/40 or from 40/60 to 5/95 with 0.1 to 5 parts by weight of at least one compound selected among polyisocyanates having an isocyanate group content of 2.0 eq/mol or higher, epoxy compounds having an epoxy group content higher than 2.0 eq/mol, and acid anhydrides having a carboxy anhydride group content higher than 2.0 eq/mol and reacting the resultant mixture, and has a melt viscosity of 0.01 to 50 in terms of melt index (MI).</p> |
