<p>An extracorporeal suturing needle, in which a curved suturing needle is united with the clamp and handle (D) of a needle holder into one long body. This needle consists of an eye (A) on the tip, a curved portion (B), a shaft (C), and a handle (D). Its total length is extended to about 35 cm so that it can be inserted into the abdominal cavity with the aid of a laparoscope. From there it can penetrate the entire thickness of the mesh and abdominal wall, until its eye (A) on the tip comes out of the patient's body, where it can be threaded and ligated. As a result, the mesh, peritoneum, and abdominal wall muscles can be sewn together with this needle, and ligated with common thread extracorporeally.</p> |
