A system used to supply an inhalation gas to a human or animal patient operates according to a program, or is controlled by a program or a sensor. Also claimed is an operation where the gas dosage is synchronised with the inhalation. It is controlled by a program or sensor, or a combined program. The dosed gas volume is set by altering the volume flow and/or dosing time. The gases can be delivered in a controlled sequence. The gas dosing is set by altering the dosing time and/or the vol. flow. The system has a pressure vessel with compressed gas, a container with chilled liquid gas or a gas generator as the gas supply. It can deliver doses of 1-4 gases or a gas mixture to supply oxygen and a gas containing NO; a gas containing NO and hydrogen; oxygen and hydrogen; oxygen and helium; oxygen, a gas containing NO and hydrogen; oxygen, a gas containing NO and helium; oxygen, carbon dioxide and helium; or oxygen, a gas containing NO, carbon dioxide and hydrogen, next to each other. |
