<p>The invention concerns a method for calibrating a camera (4, 22) arranged on a mobile support (21), wherein the camera takes a test object image formed of at least three marks appearing in the camera field, and the analysis of said image gives the initial position and orientation of the camera relative to that of the test object image, known in an application. The support (21) can then be displaced towards an object (28) whereof the camera takes images. Since the support displacements are accurately measured, the analysis of the object images gives the accurate position and orientation of the object relative to the camera and relative to the test object. One application consists in the survey of road signs (28) for constituting databases for managing a network or for an on-board navigation system.</p> |
