Needle disposal apparatus with reduced odors, enhanced safety and reduced electromagnetic noise

A needle disposal apparatus that melts used hypodermic needles has an entrance chamber, a melting chamber, and a waste box that are joined to form an airtight passage. An air pump draws air through this passage and through an odor filter, thereby removing odors from the melting chamber and waste box. The entrance chamber, melting chamber, and waste box are preferably surrounded by electrically conducting materials that block emission of electromagnetic noise. Power is preferably supplied through parallel switches, which are disabled when the waste box is not installed. The needle is preferably guided through the entrance chamber by a slider with a replaceable syringe guide cap to accommodate different syringe and needle sizes. <IMAGE> <IMAGE>
