A centering assembly for brake saddles (1) forms part of a disc brake for vehicular use. The saddle brake has first and second brake linings, a brake piston and a brake saddle guide. The centering unit has an adjustment to set the free play on the second brake lining, a clamp linked to the guide, and a brake saddle first end-stop facing the clamp. The first end-stop is so positioned with respect to the clamp that when the brake is released, the free play on the first brake lining is set with respect to the brake disc.
