Aqueous emulsions containing a hydrophobic brightener, a hydrophilic surfactant and a hydrophobic surfactant

Aqueous compositions are disclosed which comprise a hydrophobic brightener, i.e. a brightener whose solubility in water is lower than 5 grams per liter at 25 DEG C, emulsified by a surfactant system comprising at least a hydrophobic surfactant having an HLB up to 9 and a hydrophilic surfactant having an HLB above 10. Preferred emulsions further comprise a bleach and a bleach activator. The compositions herein allow to obtain excellent synthetic fabric whiteness performance.
