The invention concerns a method for separating oxygen from a mixture of gas containing said oxygen, using an electrochemical cell with solid electrolyte, characterised in that said cell comprises a homogeneous structure consisting of one or several BIMEVOX derivatives, with reversible and self-adaptive dynamic electrodes generated "in situ" and at least two current collectors. The invention also concerns the electrochemical cell for implementing the method and its applications.
