The brake servo (30) is connected between the brake pedal (20) and the master cylinder (10) and provides a programmed servo brake force and a programmed brake reaction force. The servo is connected to a controller (31) which provides control signals in response to sensor readings. A programmed memory (32) contains driver preference data and is connected to the controller. The driver preference data enables the controller to set the brake reaction force and the brake response to match the preferences of the driver. The same memory holds data to set the seat adjustment, driving mirror, etc.. The programmed memory also provides data to match the braking to the type of driving, e.g. town or open road.
