Fuel nozzle assembly for a low nox combustor

A fuel nozzle assembly for a low NOx combustor in which a plurality of fuel pegs (32) extend axially from a nozzle block (28) containing fuel supply passages. A fuel nozzle tip (34) having a plurality of liquid fuel injectors (56) is coupled to each fuel peg by means of a threaded joint (58, 59), thereby permitting the fuel nozzle tips to be readily removed from the fuel pegs for cleaning and servicing. At assembly, a portion of each fuel nozzle is deformed into a notch (74) formed in the fuel peg so as to prevent the nozzle tips from coming loose by rotation. A metallic C-shaped seal (72) is disposed between each nozzle tip and its fuel peg so that the seal is elastically deformed when the nozzle tip is threaded onto the fuel peg. A filter (62) is disposed adjacent the outlet of a central passage formed within the fuel peg. The filter removes foreign matter from any of the upstream fuel passages that has been carried along by the flow of fuel.
