PURPOSE:To automatically obtain optimum picture quality at every screen unit by executing the arithmetic processing of sampling data, and setting a control signal based on adjusting data selected from among adjusting data groups set beforehand. CONSTITUTION:When some sampling data of a luminance signal obtained by a sampling circuit 31 is supplied through an A/D conversion circuit 32, an arithmetic processing part 33 discriminates the signal of what IRE level the sampling data is. By repeating this operation by (n) times, a constant B is set based on the data of a low IRE group, and the constant W is set based on the data of a high IRE group. The arithmetic processing part 33 executes the prescribed arithmetic processing based on these constants B, W and the adjusting data selected from memory means 34, 35, and obtains the data to be the standard of the setting of the control signal, and adds this data and a signal value being controlled at the luminance level adjusted beforehand, and outputs the added value as the control signal SB. |
