The actual spoiler 3 is mounted on the support 1 which fixes it to the bodywork 2 of the vehicle with interposition of a gear motor 4 which enables its position to be varied from the normal position which corresponds to the normal forward movement of the vehicle to a braking position in which said spoiler 3 is located perpendicularly to the direction of the wind 5, considerably increasing the value of the coefficient of penetration of said vehicle and consequently interacting with the braking mechanisms thereof. This tilting of the spoiler 3 is brought about automatically by actuation of the motor vehicle's brake pedal to which is connected an electromechanical control which acts on the gear motor 4. <IMAGE>
