PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of effectively restraining occurrence of image transfer in a vermicular state and void and ground staining. SOLUTION: A thin toner layer is formed on a toner support and this toner is charged with a friction member and develops an electrostatic latent image formed on an image carrier, and the obtained developed image is primarily transferred onto an endlessly moving intermediate transfer film, and this primary transfer image on the intermediate transfer film is transferred secondarily on a transfer material. The toner to be used here has an average grain diameter of 5-10μm and a aggregation degree is 5-20%.
