<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and economically manufacture a magnetic toner made of a zinc ferrite powder and a binder resin, and used as a developer for an image forming device by an electrophotographic system. SOLUTION: The magnetic toner is manufactured by adding 0.2-3.0 pts.wt. of a ferrous chloride powder to 100 pts.wt. of a powder mixture comprising 2.5-14.5 pts.wt. of ZnO and 97.5-85.5 pts.wt. of Fe2 O3 , introducing them into a rotary kiln kept at a temp. of 500-700 deg.C in an nitrogen atmosphere to subject them to heat treatment, and forming a magnetic oxide powder having a saturation magnetization of 85-105 emu/g in an applied magnetic field of 5,000 Oe and mixing them with a binder resin in a weight ratio of 5:5 to 3:7.</p> |
