PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the visibility of a screen from being reduced by reflecting light on the screen consisting of a light reflective material of a display unit visually recognized directly through a front cover. SOLUTION: This display unit is constituted so that, in the state that on-vehicle instruments are arranged on a dashboard on a vehicle, just between a driver's seat and an assistant driver's seat, namely, at a middle point in the vehicle's width direction X, an intersection angleθD in the vertical plane between the sightlines D1 of the driver and a fellow passenger and a perpendicular line H1 from a front face 21b in an intersection D on the front face 21b of a front cover 21 intersected by the sightlines becomes a value deviated from the range of the intersection angles in the vertical plane between external light such as sunshine or illumination made incident in the vehicle from the outside and emitted on a display surface 15a through the front cover 21 and the perpendicular line H1 from the front face 21b and the display surface 15a made of a light reflective member of a fluorescent display tube 15 is arranged in such the attitude that the display surface 15a of the fluorescent display tube 15 and the sight lines D1 of the driver and the fellow passenger looking at this display surface 15a do not intersect each other at a right angle.
