PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain distortion or color slurring caused by the curvature of the scanning locus of a light beam from occurring on an image formed on a recording material. SOLUTION: As to this image forming device in which plural light beam scanning devices respectively perform scanning on plural image carriers with light beams so that the images of mutually different colors are respectively formed, and the images of respective colors are successively transferred to the same transfer material so that a color image is formed; the curvature amount (referring to (A)) of the scanning loci of the light beams emitted from the respective scanning devices on the image carrier are detected, the scanning directions of the light beams are rotated (referring to (C)) so as to make the curvature amount within a scanning range used in image formation small based on the scanning range (referring to (B)) used in the image formation to the transfer material in the entire scanning range of the light beams and the detected curvature amount, and the deviation (color slurring) of the transfer positions of the images of the respective colors to the transfer material occurring in accordance with rotation in a scanning direction is corrected. |
