691,283. Gas filters. ANTONELLI, L. March 12, 1951 [March 30, 1950], No. 5919/51. Class 8 (ii). A gas filtering plant comprises a plurality of filter units 1 Fig. 1 each subdivided by baffles 18 Fig. 3 into say four chambers each of which communicates through a hose 16 with a dust-laden gas inlet space 19. and through one of four conduits 5---8 with one of four pairs of valves in a valve unit 9 having suction and pressure zones 28. 29 Fig. 4 to one or other of which each filter chamber is connected according to the setting of its related valves; the latter being actuated cyclically by means e.g., cams 41, 42 driven by a motor 44 whereby each filter chamber is successively subjected to pressure and suction. The zones 28, 29 are connected to the inlet and outlet of suction and pressure fans 10, 11 respectively. In a modification the zone 29 is connected to the outlet of the suction fan 10 or to atmosphere. As shown meal-laden air from containers 3 is drawn by the fan 10 through ducts 2 to three of the four chambers of each unit 1 connected by conduits 5, 7, 8 to chambers 30, 32, 33 Fig. 5 formed between zones 28, 29 by walls 22 - - - 27. The chambers 30, 32, 33 are open to the suction zone 28 through the valves actuated by cam 41, and are closed to the pressure zone 29 by the valves 36, 38, 39 actuated by cam 42. A fourth chamber 31 connected to the conduit 6 is closed to zone 28 by the cam actuated valve 35 and is open to zone 29 through the cam actuated valve 37 resulting in pneumatic cleaning of the hoses 16 associated therewith. |
