ELECTRIC DOUBLE-LAYER CAPACITOR, ELECTRODE, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric double-layer capacitor and an electrode having high capacity at high current density and adequate strength for practical use. SOLUTION: An electrode 2 for an electric double-layer capacitor made of a sinter of PVDC(polyvinylidene chloride) resin carbide is set to a density of 0.65 to 0.75 g/cc, a sheet resistance of 0.9 to 3.0 Ω/(square), and a gap among particles of 5 to 20 μm respectively. The PVDC resin carbide is carbonized at a temperature in a range of 180 to 600 deg.C and is crushed into a powder having a mean particle size of 8 to 12 μm. The carbide powder is made into a slurry set with 2 to 4 pH and is sintered at a temperature range of 600 to 950 deg.C.
