摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector which has high reliability in optical communication and can be manufactured at low cost. SOLUTION: A light-emitting device 34A and a photodetector 34B located in a device locating chamber 30 of a connector 12 are so set that their optical axes cross each other in a single through-hole for communication formed in a front wall face 31 of the element-locating chamber 30. Because of this reason, the width of the through-hole formed in the front wall face 31 is such that it allows one optical axis to pass through and therefore foreign matters hardly enter the chamber where the devices are located through the through-hole. Therefore, even in an environment that may be prone to become dirty easily, the reliability in optical communication can be kept high. Furthermore, since all that needs to be done is to set the directions of the optical axes of the devices 34A, 34B, there is no necessity for increasing the number of components, so that a equipment can be manufactured at low cost.</p>
