PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an inductor having satisfactory DC superposition characteristics as well as an inductance which is large. SOLUTION: A torodial core 11 is provided with a gap 13 at a portion thereof. Layers of foils 17 made of a soft magnetic material are inserted into the gap 13. The existence of the gap 13 can improve the DC superposition characteristics, and the existence of the foils 17 of the soft magnetic material can reduce the magnetic resistance to increase inductance. It is preferable to use a metallic material as the soft magnetic material. If the area of the foils 17 inserted into the gap 13 is made larger than the sectional area of the gap 13, an effect of preventing magnetic flux leakage can also be attained. |
