摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speedily correspond to a case when a fault occurs in infrared communication with the extension of attached parts by freely movably providing the infrared communication port of a unit where the attached parts can be extended for a position satisfying a prescribed communication condition against the infrared communication port of the other unit. SOLUTION: When an option paper feeding cassette 31 is not installed, the infrared communication port 20 of a personal computer and a printer PR face each other. When the option power feeding cassette 31 is intalled on the printer PR, the cassette 31 protrudes forward, a part of a range satisfying the communication condition of the infrared communication port 20 in the printer PR is shielded and communication is likely to be inhibited. When an operation dial 23 is turned by a hand, the rotation is transmitted to the infrared communication port 20 and the port 20 protrudes forward. The range satisfying the communication condition of the infrared communication port 20 in the printer PR is not shielded by the option power feeding cassette 31 and communication can securely be executed.
